Project Enforcer: Turning Everyday Challenges into Award-Winning Sustainability Innovation
The Project Enforcer Team of the Jollibee Group Manufacturing & Logistics (M&L) team has been honored at the 2026 TOWER Awards, one of the country’s prestigious recognitions for Filipino workers whose innovations create meaningful and measurable impact on business and industry. Presented by the Rotary Club of Manila, the award celebrates exceptional innovation, productivity, and excellence among Filipino workers.
Together, the team conceptualized, developed, and implemented Project Enforcer, an innovative waste management solution that addressed a longstanding operational challenge while improving efficiency and sustainability across manufacturing operations.
Transforming Problems into Solutions
The inspiration behind the project came from a common issue in sausage production.
During operations, meat spillages mixed with water were collected and disposed of as solid waste. While this was part of the routine process, it resulted in excessive waste volume, higher disposal costs, drainage concerns, and inefficiencies in overall waste management.
At the time, the team identified an opportunity to improve the mixed food waste disposal process, with the potential to generate approximately Php2.2. million in annual savings. Rather than simply continuing with the established practice, the team explored a more efficient and innovative approach.
Guided by the Kaizen philosophy of eliminating waste, the team developed Project Enforcer, a practical and cost-effective solution designed to minimize waste generation at the source.
Using readily available materials and in-house expertise, they fabricated a strainer system that separates solid meat residues from wastewater before disposal. What began as a simple idea quickly evolved into an impactful innovation that transformed waste-handling practices within the production line.
Driving Impact Through Simple Innovation
Today, the solution diverts approximately 83% of wastewater directly to treatment facilities while recovering 17% of solid meat residues before they enter the waste stream. This has resulted in cleaner operations, reduced waste disposal requirements, improved housekeeping conditions, minimized drainage issues, and enhanced production efficiency.
But the impact goes beyond operational improvements. Project Enforcer generates approximately âą158,708 in monthly savings and has delivered more than âą9 million in cumulative savings as of December 2025.
A simple solution.
A practical idea.
A measurable impact.
Innovation in Action
Project Enforcer demonstrates how innovation can come from the people closest to the work. It reflects the spirit of Manufacturing & Logistics, where employees continuously look for opportunities to improve processes, eliminate waste, strengthen operational excellence, and create value for the organization.
The initiative also aligns with the Joy for Tomorrow sustainability agenda in terms of caring for the environment by reducing waste volume and easing the load on drainage and disposal systems.
