Atty. Val Amante Named to the Legal 500 GC Powerlist Asia 2025

Manila, Philippines. December 19, 2025 – Our very own Valerie “Atty. Val” Feria-Amante, Chief Legal, Ethics, and Compliance Officer of the Jollibee Group, has been recognized in the Legal 500 GC Powerlist Asia 2025 and Chambers Global Market Leaders 2025, prestigious distinctions that spotlight the region’s most influential and impactful in-house legal leaders.
In her interview with Legal 500, Atty. Val reflects on the unique role of the legal function as both strategist and enabler of growth—particularly within a fast-expanding, multi-brand global organization.
“I value the opportunity to be at the forefront of bringing new brands into our portfolio – brands I believe in, with products I am genuinely passionate about… Just as important as the big deals is our day-to-day collaboration with all functions and business units across the enterprise – co-creating and protecting value as strategic partners and key enablers, while actively contributing to the Jollibee Group’s record performance.”
Her inclusion also highlights a remarkable leadership journey that has grown in step with the business itself. From modest beginnings, Atty. Val has helped shape a legal organization built for scale, complexity, and global reach.
“The opportunity to grow the legal function of the Jollibee Group alongside the business’s expansion has been a truly unique experience – one that few in-house lawyers have the chance to experience. I joined as Senior Manager and ‘Officer in Charge’ in 2007. For my first six months, our team consisted of just one lawyer and one paralegal in the Philippines, with some coordination with a paralegal from an acquired company in China.”
Today, that vision has translated into a robust, globally distributed team anchored on shared values and stewardship.
“Today, our legal team has grown to 33 lawyers and paralegals, with offices in six countries… Our diverse, multinational team brings a wealth of strengths and perspectives to the table, united by our commitment to excellence and integrity and by a shared sense of stewardship for the company.”
Atty. Val’s recognition underscores not only personal excellence, but also the growing strategic importance of in-house legal leadership in enabling responsible, values-driven growth across Asia and beyond.
