Jollibee Group Marks 5th Year of World Food Safety Day with Data-Driven Innovation

Driving Food Safety Together. Jollibee Group marked World Food Safety Day with a global internal webinar that emphasized the shared responsibility of keeping food safe—through vigilance, smart use of data, and strong teamwork across all functions.
Jollibee Group celebrated its fifth consecutive World Food Safety Day this June, reaffirming its global commitment to delivering safe, high-quality food. The annual event, held every June 7, is a World Health Organization (WHO) and Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) initiative to promote awareness and action around foodborne risks.
This year’s theme, “Food Safety: Science in Action,” aligned with the Jollibee Group’s direction to embed science, data, and technology into its food safety systems worldwide.
“Jollibee Group treats food safety as a top priority with shared commitment across every team and region,” said Wally Mateo, Head of Global Quality Management of the Jollibee Group. “Through innovation and collaboration, we foster a culture of prevention and care—from the farm, to food processors, to food business operators, to government regulators and Consumers. Together, we work each day to protect the trust of every consumer we serve.”
Global Internal Engagement and Innovation
On June 7, Jollibee Group brands around the world launched coordinated social media campaigns to highlight their food safety efforts, reinforcing consumer confidence.
A global internal webinar on June 11 gathered over 1,300 participants from operations, supply chain, and support teams. Functional experts from the company shared how enterprise risk strategies, data analytics, and new technologies are enhancing food safety. Key initiatives included mobile audit tools, predictive analytics, and the launch of a new Food Safety & Quality risk management platform.

Tech-Enabled Solutions
Two new programs were introduced during the month:
· Food Safety & Quality Risk Management Module – powered by Veeva and built on global FSSC standards, the platform enables early threat detection, real-time risk monitoring, and smarter decision-making.
· Environmental Monitoring Program (EMP) – a proactive initiative that monitors microbial presence, air quality, temperature, humidity, and workplace conditions to ensure safer environments.
Advancing Food Safety Education
On July 9, Jollibee Group participated in a Department of Science and Technology (DOST) webinar, sharing insights on Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points
(HACCP) and industry best practices. The livestream attracted over 4,000 viewers and has since gained more than 48,000 views—demonstrating the value of science-based food safety knowledge-sharing.
With innovation, collaboration, and data at the core, Jollibee Group’s food safety systems continue to evolve—helping ensure that every meal served meets the highest standards of quality and care.
